Rezumat

It is well known that the Soviet Union's reannexation of Bessarabia on 28th of June 1940 is a milestone in the history of the Prut-Dniester region. That event meant not only a mere takeover, but also a consolidation of the Communist Party at the helm of the MSSR, and the implementation of a broad policy of denationalization, sovietisation and rusification. In addition to ideology, these measures concerned important areas of social life such as education, culture, sports, health care and so on. However, we’re thinking that the Soviet power wanted to create a positive image in front of the ordinary people, to gain the confidence of the masses, and wasn’t motivated only by altruism and noble intentions. We had the intention to observe how and by what means the Soviet power implemented its policies immediately after the reannexation in the summer of 1940. The objectives of this research are to elucidate some aspects of social life in MSSR during soviet administration based on the documents of Archives of the Social-Politic Organisations of the Republic of Moldova. In the full-text version, we presented how these processes were carried out between 1940-1941 and 1944-1945 in the Sculeni rayon, bringing examples wich we found in archives documents and even more, we added our critical commentaries about it because the documents were made by soviets, and as it is logical to be, these sources are very subjective. The ideas from the study of this problem will help us to understand how the system of ideology and indoctrination functioned not only theoretically but also practically. One of the main thesis of this article is that the Soviets used to Bessarabia a very well thought out policy. Thus, as in several decades, the territory between Prut and Dniester becomes loyal to Moscow, both politically and from the prospective of the collective mentality of most bessarabians. The measures taken by the Soviets, although they were tantalizing in propaganda, have brought some benefits that can not be denied. Among these we could list the construction and arrangement of hospitals, nurseries, schools, kindergartens, cultural houses; promoting healthy lifestyle (by implanting love for practicing sport); electrifying villages et cetera. However, once archivistical funds have been declassified and the whole world saw documents about the shadow activity of the Soviets, such as repressions, deportations, famine, censorship and by the way, the transformation of MSSR into a Moscow “semi-colony”, it becomes more and more logical to ask: "what is the human price for what we’ve achieved?"
