Ionizing radiation sources are potentially harmful if not properly controlled, and only existence of the effective infrastructure for radiation safety can ensure the safe use. Establishing and developing of an effective and sustainable national radiation safety infrastructure based on international requirements was not be possible in Moldova without the international technical assistance and expertise provided by the IAEA, the USA Government and Swedish Radiation Safety Authority. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the radiation safety infrastructure for compliance with the European Union Directives. |
