Rezumat

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of norepinephrine and dopamine in the regulation of glucose absorption in the small intestine. The experiments in vivo on male rats have enabled to conclude that norepinephrine causes glucose absorption stimulation or inhibition in the small intestine in dependence on its dose. The stimulating effect of norepinephrine is mediated by one of the α-adrenoreceptor subclasses, namely the inhibitory α1adrenoreceptors. It has been determined that dopamine plays its own physiological role in the regulation of glucose absorption as an inhibitory mediator. Therefore, the neurotransmitters-catecholamines play an important role in the regulation of glucose absorption in the small intestine. The ways and the mechanisms of the realization of  catecholamine effects on the process of glucose absorption are discussed.
