The period 1948-1950 was very ambiguous from the standpoint of the assessments which the inhabitants gave to the authorities of the Republic, contrary to the benevolent official picture, which drew state propagandists of the Soviet period. In this situation from time to time manifested itself carefully concealed from the public eye the conflicts on ethnic grounds, and even at times calls for the separation of Moldova from the USSR. And more often showed itself,hopes for a war of Western countries led by the U.S. and Britain, with the Soviet Union, which will make Moldova free from the Soviet country |
