Rezumat

Today the experience of many teachers, coaches and non-governmental organizations shows that non-formal education affects positively to the education of youth. Environmental education has been much developed in Moldova in the last 4-5 years. Now for the youth are held trainings, open seminars, public events and meetings with the aim of public awareness of environmental safety issues. Social and environmental projects are held annually in major cities of the Republic of Moldova. Pupils and students join them, and most importantly – they continue to develop this wave of environmental education in their own projects. Environmental education provides real-world contexts and issues from which concepts and skills every student can learn a lot. Specific area for us is ecological chemistry. What teaching methods are best suited for such a science like chemistry? Studying the examples of several non-governmental organizations from Moldova, we have developed a set of activities and educational events which can help educators to carry out more effective work with young people. We also have examined some examples of projects on this very subject, which were organized by such companies and communities as UN, EcoVisio, activEco and others. On the other hand, we are sure that many methods of non-formal education should be used in formal one. According to the analysis of the importance of the experimental activity at school, concerning the usefulness of simple experiments using every day material from the students’ environment approximately 70 % of teachers believe that these kinds of activities should be used at all levels, from primary to high school [1]. That is why it is important not to ignore these non-formal methods in schools and universities.
