The Republic of Moldova at the present time is dealing with a number of environmental problems. Irregular storage of solid wastes and animal manure, inefficient wastewater treatment and its discharge into the environment, industrial activities and large number of cars, all of which cause pollution of waters (surface and groundwater), soil and air. In order to prevent pollution above was lodged Directive 2004/35 / EC of the European Parliament. On the same principle is based the Water Law of the Republic of Moldova, which requires that in water resources domain are not taken any actions that may have negative consequences for the environment [1]. This principle is applied both when planning an action or measures, and in the control of the consequences. The basic objective of the republic Environmental Strategy for the years 2014-2023 [2] includes the reducing of economic activity negative impact on the environment and improving measures to prevent environmental pollution. In the current strategy also is specified that at present the problems of environmental education in the Republic of Moldova acquires special significance, linked to the disastrous state of the environment, with the hope that humanity will realize the imminent danger and carry out practical activities for rapid improvement in environmental quality [3]. Given the fact that one of the specific objectives of the Environmental Strategy for the years 2014-2023 is to increase the level of awareness on environmental protection among students and employees with at least 50% by 2023 and ensuring access to environmental information that water is of strategic importance for the republic (quantitative and qualitative), the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, USM, was organized in 2016 a republican seminar for teachers of chemistry on theme "Water pollution - a problem of the XXI century". The basic objective of the seminar was - continuous contribution in convincing teachers, motivating, and encouraging youth involvement in preventing environmental pollution in the territory. It is to mention that professors in chemistry of the republic convene monthly to faculty, and the subjects necessarily include aspects of environmental protection, implementing arrangements on various projects with this thematic approach and implementation of the results [4].
