Rezumat

Ecosystem of industrial fields of Azerbaijan is characterized with high ecological tension. Ecological situation of these fields is due to high load of toxic wastes of industrial production on their elements. In technogenesis process all their elements are exposed to direct interaction and changes: atmospheric air, biota, soil cover, ground and surface waters. This leads to degradation of life conditions of inhabitants of ecosystem up to their total destruction. Ecological situation on territories of railroad station Padar of Hajigabul region induced with accidental spill of phenol from rail tanker in 1986 might serve as an example. Due to the absence of purification technology of phenol soil detoxication of emergency area was not conducted completely and that’s why specific smell of phenol spreads to surrounding settlements with wind and raises concerns and anxiety of population. Phenol is a toxic matter of second hazard class, has a mutagenic effect. For normalization of ecological situation on emergency territory we have developed an effective purification technology of soils contaminated with phenol [1-2]. In the work we presented research results of phenol on biological parameters of soils. Biological activity of soils was determined by number of several environmental-trophic groups of microorganisms – microfungus, organotrophs and oligotrophs. We also determined phenol content in soils on transportation of humidity and migration of phenol by emergency territories, both in its spill and surroundings. Phenol content in soils was determined by our method [3]. According to the studies we established decrease of phenol content in soils on either sides of its spill. By decrease of phenol concentration in soils on these areas we observed high amount of microbial community. This fact confirms the growth of microorganisms and increase of biological activity of soils by the stimulation of phenol. Stimulation of growth of microorganisms with phenol is shown in [4]. According to this phenomenon phenol can be a nutrition substrate, it can be transformed with microbes-destructors. Such opportunity is determined only by the concentration of phenol in soils. It can be both a poison and nutrition substrate for microorganisms.
