We report some elastic parameters of cubic fluorite type thorium dioxide (ThO2) with a ve1y recent embedded atom method (EAM) based interatomic potential through geometiy optimization calculations. Typical cubic elastic constants, bulk modulus, shear modulus, young modulus, and other relevant parameters were considered during research. After calculations, we compared available theoretical data, our results, and fo1mer experimental data with each other. In general, cuITent results not only exhibit a good consistency with experiments but also satisfy the existing theoretical data for the compared parameters ofThO2. |
