This article identifies the library terminology which was influenced by the emergence of english words in general vocabulary. Using different terms from english influence had an important role in creating new terms in this area. New appearances in the romanian library terminology which appeared in XX-th and XXI-th century are terms translated from english library activity, used in different countries. Librarian activity of the international level, in its evolution, has different changes that have taken place on the historical and cultural level, which lead to the appearance of linguistic changes, especially at the level of the lexicon of the library terminology. These changes occurring at the lexicon level do not occur abruptly and radically, new forms of linguistic expression that coexist with the old ones for a period of time, thus ensuring the possibility of communication between generations of specialists from different stages. The terms studied were selected from various librarian publications online platforms.
