In the article is presented the oral history of the Bessarabian German colonies (1814/1940) in the interviews of the descendants of the first settlers. Oral history and life stories help to create a truer picture of the past and connects public and private experience. Oral history strives to obtain information from different perspectives and most of these cannot be found in written sources. It is the collection and study of historical information about individuals, families, important events, or everyday life using audiotapes, videotapes, or interviews. These interviews are conducted with people who participated in or observed past events and whose memories and perceptions of these are to be preserved as history for future generations. |
