The terrorist actions in France and Belgium in 2015 and 2016 raised debates about the efficiency of counterterrorism policies for national and European authorities and also their readiness of response to future terrorist attacks. Through close cooperation within the EU were established new specialized agencies for countering terrorist threats: Europol, Eurojust, the Police Working Group on Terrorism, the position of Counter-Terrorism Coordinator of the European Union, European Counter Terrorism Centre. The EU adopted the „Declaration of Solidarity” in the fight against terrorism (2004), Strategy for combating the financing of terrorism (2004), the Counter-Terrorism Strategy (2005). All the pillars mentioned above are going to be analyzed in details in this article. |
