The European Union is in crisis – internally as well as externally and is facing a multitude of challenges. One of them is the interaction with the neighboring states in the South and East of the Union. The European Neighborhood Policy (ENP), which is providing a framework for the collaboration, has set itself the goals of establishing security, stability and prosperity in the neighboring states and safeguarding the internal security of the Union. Therefore, the success of this policy is of great importance for both sides.  One of the central outcomes of the paper is that many of the requirements of the Republic of Moldova, e.g. the fight against corruption, are already taken into account in the current policy. Other areas such as promotion of societal cohesion are so far largely unconsidered. The recommendations for the restructuring are summarized in the categories ‚differentiation’ and ‚policy-making’ and include amongst others the creation of new financial instruments, ‚monitoring-partnerships’ and the formulation of a strategy to involve the neighbors of the neighbors. 

Uniunea Europeană este în criză – atât pe plan intern cât și extern, și se confruntă cu o multitudine de provocări. Una dintre ele este interacțiunea cu statele vecine din sudul și estul Uniunii. Politica Europeană de Vecinătate (PEV), care oferă un cadru pentru colaborare, și-a fixat obiectivele de securitate, stabilitate și prosperitate în statele vecine și garantarea securității interne a Uniunii. Prin urmare, succesul acestei politici este de o mare importanță pentru ambele părți.  Unul dintre principalele rezultate ale lucrării este faptul că multe dintre cerințele Republicii Moldova, de exemplu, lupta împotriva corupției, sunt pe ordinea de zi în politica actuală. Alte domenii, cum ar fi promovarea coeziunii sociale, sunt luate în considerare până în prezent în mare măsură. Recomandările pentru restructurare sunt rezumate în categoriile „diferențierea” și „elaborarea politicilor” și includ, printre altele, crearea de noi instrumente financiare, „monitorizarea parteneriatelor”și formularea unei strategii pentru a implica vecinii vecinilor.
