The increasing pressure of the public on the possibility to use public administration services in the form of remote communication causes the need to incorporate information systems enabling this means of communication to an ever increasing number of public administration activities. The increase in resources required for purchase and operation of these systems triggers discussions concerning a transfer from the traditional ICT to more efficient forms of information system operation. The possibility of using cloud computing on a larger scale comes forward here. The author has reached the conclusion that this issue should be dealt with intensively and purposefully at all public sector levels.
