In this article the authors analyze the impact of the flow of migrants, asylum and protection seekers from the Middle East in the European Union and the Republic of Moldova focusing on the ways their presence might affect the social and political dimension of security. The objective of this paper is to determine whether the refugees represent or might represent in the near future a threat for the security and stability of the European continent. The author analyzes the security dimension from the perspective of the European population. Therefore, an increased attention is awarded to the social dimension of the researched problem. In this respect, the article is based on an undergoing study and three opinion polls conducted in 2016 and 2017 that represents the attitude towards migrants from the Middle East. |
