Rezumat

Nowadays, the production and use of detergents is growing steadily. The automation of washing processes and the extension to society, the improvement of the sanitation process involves the use of increasing amounts of surfactants. After use, surfactants as well as their products are mainly discharged into sewage treatment plants and then dispersed into the environment through effluent discharge into surface waters and sludge disposal on lands. Surfactants have different behavior and fate in the environment. Most surfactants have an extremely wide range of negative effects on humans as well as on aquatic ecosystems and water quality. Also, a decisive reason for this research is the influence of tensioactive substances on redox processes of stable forms of nitrogen in natural waters. Nitrogen, being one of the basic elements in the formation of organic substance, is among the most sensitive elements to changes in the natural water caused by eutrophication and pollution. So, the presence of reduced forms of nitrogen is an indicator of the degradation of the aquatic environment. This article, will include the results of research on the influence of different surfactants on the nature and concentration of the redox process of the soluble forms of nitrogen in natural waters.
