What really surprises in politicians of the twentieth century is the fact that being well-known professionals in their core activities – industrialists, economists, doctors – they all persevered and demonstrated a high level of culture. Most of them left for posterity extremely interesting memories, fine publicistic works and outstanding specialty studies. Among those prominent figures we could mention Dr. Petru Cazacu, a Bessarabian who had established residence in Romania before 1900, and was an active collaborator of the famous magazine “Viaţa românească” (Romanian Life). He was Constantin Stere’s close friend, and in hard times of the year 1918 he was head of the Government of the Moldavian Republic.
