The observation that the evolution of writing forms corresponds to the stages of the evolution of consciousness and the historical development of society, as well as the conclusions that writing is not just a conventional sign system but also an expression and reflection of human and universe evolution, of the invisible movements of the spirit and conscience, justifies our intention to define writing as a system of visual signifiers of the existence phenomenon. This phenomenon has been intuited by Freud too – utilizing a variety of methods taken from the hieroglyphic writing, he tended to demonstrate, that the contradictory or indeterminate meaning of the primordial words was able to confirm itself and to obtain operating specifics and conditions only on the basis of gesture and writing.
