Rezumat

ENRICH is a collaborative project with a clearly defined purpose, funded under the EU Content Plus scheme. Its objective is to provide unlimited access to the digital representations of the old documentary heritage from various European cultural institutions, and to create a shared virtual research environment, especially for the study of manuscripts, incunabula, rare old printed books and other historical documents. It was based on the Digital Library Manuscriptorium (http://www.manuscriptorium.eu), which has already managed to accumulate data from about 50 collections in the Czech Republic and other countries. The project includes approximately 85% of already digitized manuscripts from national libraries of Europe. These collections will be complemented with a substantial amount of data from university libraries and other institutions. The consortium will provide the user with more than five million digitized pages.
