Nicolas Werth is one of the most famous researchers of Soviet period. For more than 40 years he visited Russia to have access to archives and to know direct Soviet and Post-Soviet reality. In 2011(13 August-4 September) he made a trip to Kolîma where he spoke to Gulag ex-prisoners and those who witnessed Soviet regime repressions. Together with Russias Irina Flige and Aleksandr Daniel he also visited museum of Gulag and prison-camps. Having repeated the way of those sent to workcamps, Werth wrote a book devoted to this experience. |
