Automatizarea activităţilor într-un anumit domeniu de afaceri, astăzi deja nu mai este noutate tehnologică, ci o condiţie obligatorie de afacere. Solicitările în creştere faţă de sistemele aplicative de afaceri, necesită identificarea unor mijloace eficiente de elaborare a sistemelor informaţionale. Rapiditatea şi eficienţa sunt două direcţii spre care tind tehnologiile informaţionale în vederea elaborării sistemelor aplicate în afaceri, tinzând ca aceste două calităţi să fie realizate atât în etapa de elaborare, cât şi la etapa de exploatare a sistemului. Exploatarea eficientă este legată de utilizarea reală a sistemului informaţional, moment în care soluţiile informaţionale urmează ritmurile proceselor din sfera afacerilor. Realizarea acestor principii reprezintă o provocare pentru tehnologii. În lucrarea de faţă se va realiza o trecere în revistă a ideilor consacrate modificărilor tehnologiilor de proiectare a bazelor de date, direcţionate spre elaborarea unor sisteme aplicative de adaptare şi extindere maximală.

Nowadays automation of activities in a given field of business is no longer a technological innovation, but a prerequisite for business. Rising demands towards the business application requires the identification of effective information systems design. The speed and efficiency are two directions that information technologies tend to in order to develop of applied business systems, aiming that these two qualities to be made both at the stage of design and at the operating system. The efficient operation is linked to the actual use of the information system, when the information solutions follow the rhythm of the business processes. Achieving these principles is a challenge for technology. The present paper gives a review of the ideas dedicated to technology changes of design databases, directed towards the development of application systems for maximum adaptation and enlargement.
