Party competition is an important element of representative democracy. Also, quality of relations between parties is an important indicator in clarifying the problem on the degree of democratization of society. In this article are considered
the main dimensions of party competition, dimensions that have enormous significance for understanding political processes in Republic of Moldova. Political parties are the main mediators between citizens and government. Party competition research is at the same time a study of the consolidation of democracy in Moldova. Our research remarks the importance of a number of factors to understand the nature of the party’s competition. These factors related to the nature of relations between parties and voters, the election platforms of political and ideological
structuring of party competition, the level of compliance with programmatic goals voter preferences and the effectiveness of political transformation in public policy programs. Party system in Moldova is not yet completely democratic, but the parties’
pluralism is a natural and irreversible option for our society. Conclusions article talking about the fact that during the post-communist transformation, Moldavians parties have become core to the political process in society much earlier than the same thing happened in Ukraine and the Russian Federation, for example. |
