In Mircea Eliade’s prose a man can achieve absolute spiritual freedom only if he finds a Great Goddess inside a woman. And if the man recognizes the Great Goddess, bliss will come in his life; he will achieve the archetypal function of decrypting the mystery and the secrets of the universe. The male characters get to decipher the signs and secrets of a mystery when accompanied and encouraged by the beloved woman, who is the projection of anima, an archetype of a woman who sacrifices her career, name and past for the sake of a paradisiacal world, as the reader will observe in the prose „Noaptea de Sanziene” and some other stories.
