Nina Corcinschi’s book, Voltaic Arc. The Text as (im)mediate(d) World (Chisinau, 2012), combines the rigors of research with relaxation and ease of a literary discourse which contains irony and, sometimes, humor. Whether they are text analyses, performed with different theoretical tools (semiotic, archetypal, structuralist etc. ones) or critical diagnoses of reception. The author’s texts aim to provoke active reading and a competition of ideas. The opinions expressed by the author are bold and accompanied by arguments. Nina Corcinschi analyzes the literature of the time with obvious satisfaction and commitment, but also with professional detachment. It is clear that we face a book with defined personality and attitude that ensures successful pleasure of reading and indicates prospects of commentary dedicated to literature.
