The author of the article puts into circulation a series of unpublished data about the life and work of the poet, writer and publicist Dimitrie Iov (1888-1959), who moved to Chisinau after the 1916-1918 war. He dedicated himself to reviving of the Romanian consciousness in Bessarabia as a journalist in publications: „Sfatul tari”, „Renasterea Moldovei”, „Biblioteca copiilor si a tinerimii”, „Cuvantul nostru”, „Basarabia de sus”, „Izbanda” etc., as a manager of the theatre called Romanian Dramatic Company from Chisinau (1918-1919), or as a general inspector of arts in Bessarabia, either as a prefect of Soroca, an MP and a senator, either through his books inspired from realities of Bessarabian life, etc.
