In the framework of the last events on the political stage of Republic of Moldova, the image of the police appears to be a very interesting issue for sociological research. On the one hand, the police is a law enforcement body which aims to protect and to serve citizen. On the other hand, the way the police is perceived by population acts a major role in shaping the image of all the state institutions in the eyes of Moldavian civil society. The presented article tries to identify a methodology for analyzing the factors which influence the public image of the police. Such a methodology could shape a clearer picture of the public appearance of this institution and to propose some concrete measures which would improve this image.
