Evaluarea performanţelor economice, detectarea timpurie a vulnerabilităţilor şi a momentelor de cotitură din ciclurile de afaceri, în special în perioada de criză, cere un răspuns prompt şi coordonat din partea instituţiilor statistice. Statisticile business de calitate, comparabile la nivel internaţional, prezintă un deosebit interes pentru economiile pieţelor emergente, precum cea moldovenească. Răspunzând la provocările de a oferi o imagine coerentă şi adecvată a activităţii economice prin utilizarea sistemului de indicatori, definiţiilor aplicate la nivelul Uniunii Europene şi experienţei internaţionale avansate privind organizarea observărilor statistice, în statistica Republicii Moldova, a fost realizată o serie de activităţi în vederea creării unui sistem integrat al statisticilor întreprinderilor, mai cu seamă pe termen scurt. În cadrul statisticilor pe termen scurt (STS), un rol deosebit revine indicatorilor ce caracterizează evoluţia situaţiei din industrie. În articol, sunt prezentate abordările teoretice privind măsurarea evoluţiei producţiei industriale; elaborarea şi implementarea noii metodologii de calcul al indicelui producţiei industriale, precum şi aplicarea instrumentului modern de întocmire a statisticilor pe termen scurt, inclusiv în industrie, elaborate şi implementate în statistica naţională conform normelor şi bunelor practici europene.

The evaluation of economic performances, the early detection of vulnerabilities and turning points in business cycles, in particular, during crisis times, require an immediate coordinated response of statistical institutions. Qualitative business statistics, comparable at the international level, are of special interest for emerging market economies, such as the Moldovan economy. Facing the challenges to produce a coherent and adequate image of economic activity, using the system of indicators, the definitions applied at the European Union level and the advanced international experience on the organisation of statistical surveys, a series of statistical activities were performed in the Moldovan statistics in order to create an integrated system of business statistics, in particular, in what concerning the short-term statistics. In the framework of short-term statistics (STS) the indicators characterising the development of the situation in industry are of special importance. In this article, the authors come with the description of: theoretical approaches on the industrial production evolution measurement; the new methodology on the industrial production index, as well as of the new, short-term integrated survey, including for industry, elaborated and implemented in national statistics according to European standards and best practices.
