The elderly people belong to socially vulnerable groups of the population, whose standard of living is much lower than the average value. The development of measures to provide them with a socially acceptable level of income and reduce poverty on this basis requires an assessment of the main indicators of the standard of living of household members with elderly people. This determines the relevance of the topic of this article. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, monographic, statistical, comparison, analogues. Research results. The analysis of the size of average per capita disposable income and consumer spending of households with elderly people was carried out. The features of the structure of disposable income and consumer spending of these households are noted. The risk of being below the poverty line for members of households with the elderly people was assessed. The calculations were carried out in general for the Republic of Moldova and in the context of "urban-rural" areas.
