Rezumat

About twenty species from the genus Arboridia Zachvatkin, 1946 are recorded in Europe, and the Japanese grape leafhopper Arboridia kakogawana (Matsumura, 1932) is among them. This species was described from Honshu Island in Japan 1932 under the name Zygina kakogawana. Arboridia kakogawana is reported as an important pest of cultivated grapevine (Vitis vinifera L.) in areas of its native zone in East Asia and in invaded regions in Eastern Europe. Due to feeding activities of the nymphs and adults, the main damage on the leaves of grapevine is made. Referring to the data of fauna of the Republic of Moldova, there is information about four species of this genus: A. erecta (Ribaut 1931), A. parvula (Boheman 1845), A. ribauti (Ossiannilsson 1937), A. velata (Ribaut 1952). First records about A. kakogawana in the Republic of Moldova appeared in 2020, however there were not mentioned neither the exact place nor the period of detection. Our field surveys were conducted in the period Mai – October 2022 in a vine plot in the south part of the Republic of Moldova in Congaz commune, Comrat district (46°06’33” N, 28°36’16” E). There were studied cultivated and table varieties of grapes. The insects were collected using sticky traps. The adult insects were determined in the laboratory conditions; the male aedeagus was extracted for the accurately identifying of the species. Basing on the material collected from sticky traps, the dynamics of the adult populationwere measured. They were trapped from the end of Mai till the end of September, and the peak was observed in the end of August, 2022. The determined material was deposited the collection in the Museum of Entomology of the Institute of Zoology.
