The steppe is one of the largest ecosystems in the world, supporting high biodiversity, and promoting human activities, but is little involved in the network of protec-ted areas, and thus its degradation continues. The diversity of beetles and their community structure in steppe ecosystems of the Republic of Moldova is poorly addressed. Thus, we aimed to characterize the diversity of beetles in the Balti steppe area of the Republic of Mol-dova using molecular-genetic methods. As a result of the research, the sequences of the DNA barcode region for 21 specimens of beetles were obtained, belonging to the families Nitiduli-dae, Coccinellidae, and Chrysomelidae. |
