Rezumat

Since 2019 a German-Moldovan research cooperation was established to investigate the large Iron Age settlement of HorodişteŢipova using geoarchaeological methods. In addition to questions of settlement and cultural development, the focus is on landscape and climate changes and land use strategies in the settlement agglomeration and the middle Dniester region. In addition to the collection of extensive scientific data sets, the results are merged with the archaeological, climatological and botanical data in a GIS to be able to correlate and evaluate them comparatively. The results obtained will then be compared with data on a regional and supra-regional level to integrate the statements made into a larger, cultural and landscape-historical context. The investigations conducted so far have been non and minimally invasive and have already yielded promising findings, which will be examined in more detail and further developed in a research project that has been applied for. In addition to general information on the location and the culturalhistorical context of the large settlement, the lecture will give an overview of the undertakings carried out so far and their results. The entire spectrum of methods used so far, including excavation, UAV imaging, geomagnetics and drilling, will be presented. Finally, an outlook on the planned further procedure and the targeted investigations for 2022 will be given.
