Rezumat

Along with the natural movement, the demographic parameters of the population are also affected by the mechanical movement of the population (migration). The main reasons for migration are economic, political, national, religious and others. Forms: pendulum (shuttle) labor trips, seasonal, related to seasonal work, trips for rest and treatment, tourism, as well as religious pilgrimages to holy places, etc. According to the types of migration, external (interstate) and internal (movement of the population within one country) are distinguished. There are migrations of the rural and urban population, intercity and migrations within the countryside, as well as migrations within individual territorial units (inter-district, etc.). Internal migration plays a large role in the distribution of labor resources, a balanced social policy, and the provision of food and other resources. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of internal migrants. So, during 2018, 31.4 thousand people changed their place of residence in the country. The population mobility index in 2018 was 10.9 per 1,000 inhabitants compared to 10.1 in 2014. Internal migrants are mostly able-bodied (more than 89%), with a predominance of the age group of 20-49 years. According to statistics, in most of the settlements of Moldova with a significant Ukrainian population, Ukrainians are characterized by a fairly long living in the place of permanent residence, as well as residence exactly at the place of birth. According to the directions of internal migration, Ukrainians, as well as Moldovans, most often move from rural to urban areas, especially to the capital. At the same time, when moving from one rural area to another, Ukrainians prefer settlements where their fellow tribesmen live.
