In the content of the article we highlight the specific features of the operative and investigative information itself, which consists in the fact that through it the uncertainty in the perception of the phenomena is removed, which are causally related to the appearance, evolution and tendencies of crime. Currently, with the help of operative and investigative information, both facts and phenomena are perceived that differ by a high peremptory degree (time and place of committing the crime, the manner of committing it), and phenomena of a categorical degree lower in relation to the criminal act: interpersonal relationships, criminal spirit, bilateral influence and other events that, in different combinations, help to perceive certain laws, to identify the correlations between facts, behaviors and consequences. This state of affairs makes it possible to classify and direct the information used in the special investigation activity in terms of its knowable importance. The range of information indicators is very wide. Moreover, the whole complex of knowledge used in the crime investigation process is revealed, discovered through the multitude of information obtained by the bodies that carry out the special investigation activity.
