Rezumat | ||||||
Mankind has been plagued by epidemics throughout its history. The worst of them immediately threatened human life, for example, the plague, cholera, typhus, and more recently Covid-19. Cultural aspects have a great influence on the processes of recognition of symptoms, labeling, seeking help and the structure of health systems. E.g, people's decision to participate in or initiate physical or psychological changes, the interpretation and assessment of change and how they act on symptoms are influenced by culture. Thus, public health measures must take into account the cultural context, that is, social agreements and assumptions and need to be localized at the community level to improve in-depth understanding of the individual context, participation and adequacy of measures. |
