Background. Determination of liver elasticity and staging of liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis are increasingly used in children, even if there are not enough validation studies in pediatrics. Objective of the study. assessment of the degree of liver fibrosis and staging of the chronic process in children with chronic viral hepatitis B, C. Material and Methods. Liver hardness and staging of fibrosis was determined in 74 children with a mean age of 11 + 5.2 years: 27 with HBV and 47 with HVCC by elastometry (FibroScan) or saunguin test (FibroTest). The diagnosis was confirmed based on internationally recommended clinical, paraclinical and instrumental data for children, including 25 by liver biopsy. Results. The average value of liver elasticity in HVBC was 5.8 + 0.4 kpa, and in HVCC - 5.4 + 0.2 kpa (p> 0.05). HVBC in children included in the research evaluated in 17 cases with minimal fibrosis F0-F1, which corresponds to stage 0-1 of the chronic hepatic process (p <0.05); in 4 cases F2 and F3 fibrosis was established (p <0.05) and only in 2 cases F4 significant liver cirrhosis (p <0.05). HVCC in the copy evaluated in milder forms with the finding of F0-F1 (27), F2 (6) and the absence of F3 and F4 (p <0.05), being correlated with indices of histological activity. Conclusion. Less invasive methods such as Fibroscan and FibroTest Quantification of hepatic elasticity in HVBC and HVCC in children are highly effective and allowed a benign evolution, with a predominance of a minimum degree of liver hardness and a minimum stage 0-1 of the chronic inflammatory process. |
