Background. According to the latest information from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC), more than nine people die every minute from injury or violence and 5.8 million people of all ages die each year from trauma, unintentional and violence. Objective of the study. Evaluating international and national experience providing emergency medical assistance quality within in traumatic emergencies at the pre-hospital stage and within the Department of Emergency Medicine. Material and Methods. The assessment of specialized literature, at national and international level, in the field of quality of emergency medical care, provided to patients with traumatic emergencies at the pre-hospital stage and within the Department of Emergency Medicine. Results. DEM embodies critical areas offering emergency services, assuring a substantial amount of high-quality health care to the population. Within the period 2013-2017 in DEM hospital area from Republic of Moldova the number of complaints increased from 922799 to 983710, inclusively on emergency basis from 666658 to 695452 visits. The share of patients hospitalized in 2017 constituted 61% (601129 patients), 39% (382581 patients) were subjected to qualified medical assistance, being redirected for ambulatory treatment. Conclusion. Ensuring a high-quality medical act within in traumatic emergencies at the pre-hospital stage and within the DEM, entails the transfer and enforcement of evidence-based medical practices, the development and implementation of a quality system for the services provided. |
