Background. As systemic sclerosis is an autoimmune disease, it is considered an independent risk factor for SARS Cov2 virus infection with the frequent development of severe forms and long-term consequences. Objective of the study. Analysis of the frequency, severity, and consequences of SARS Cov2 infection in patients with systemic sclerosis. Material and Methods. 149 patients with systemic sclerosis were contacted or monitored, of which only 2 were male. The mean age of the subjects included in the study was 56.3 ± 4.3 years. The average duration of the disease - 12.8 ± 4.1 years, with the diffuse form of the disease were 46 (30.9%) and the limited 103 (69.1%) patients. 87 (58.4%) of the patients had pre-existing lung damage and 73 (49%) of them receive Results. The results showed that out of the 149 patients, 12 (8.1%) reported symptoms and tested positive for SARS Cov2 infection. Of these, 3 (25%) were diagnosed with a mild form of the disease, 7 (58.3%) with a moderate form and 2 (16.7%) suffered from a severe form of infection. Of those infected, 9 (75%) were hospitalized, all with pre-existing lung damage (interstitial pneumonia). No deaths were reported. In the postCovid period, 4 patients reported persistent diarrhea, 3 - worsening of vascular changes, 6 - a pronounced myasthenia and 10 - prolonged fatigue.. Conclusion. The study showed a sufficiently high rate of SARS Cov2 disease in patients with systemic sclerosis, especially in those with pre-existing lung damage. A slow recovery was also observed in the period after infection with the aggravation of some manifestations of the disease. |
