Economic diplomacy is the function of foreign policy approaches with the objectives of promoting the economic wellbeing of the citizens of a country. It aims at using foreign policy instruments to support the economic interests not only of its entrepreneurs in a foreign country, but also of the state in general. Economic diplomacy is the effective framework for institutional cooperation in order to take steps to promote the economic objectives of a country beyond its borders. Economic diplomacy is of substantial importance for the foreign policy of the Republic of Moldova. The mission of the MFAEI is to develop and continuously enhance its efforts to promote the national economic interests of the Republic of Moldova by attracting foreign investment and promoting exports.
