The grapes disease golden yellowing, being epidemic, has been found in the vineyards in Moldova. The carrier of this disease is leafhopper Sc. titanus. Leafhopper Sc. titanus lives and feeds only on grapes, without bringing any harm to vines. Harmfulness of this insect is to transfer the disease golden yellowing, which in conditions of Moldova significantly reduces productivity of the vine, its hardiness and longevity. On the basis of studying the phenology of insect’s development we have proposed measures to combat the leafhopper-vector in vineyards, which are chemical processing during mass hatching of larvae. On vine plantations we recommend to make protective treatment against adult imago. To prevent import of infected planting material, we recommend making hot water therapy treatment of plants.
