Yesteryear farms meet the needs of the population at a level of 50-65%, therefore the “decollectivisation” in post socialist agriculture was justified. We know that agriculture can be effective only if there are created opportunities of rational exploitation of agricultural land. But successful techniques of crop rotations, plant protection, irrigation, rational use of modern techniques, are possible only if they are implemented on consolidated land of 80-90 ha minimum. Land consolidation in Moldova on a surface of 700 hectares of arable land is minimal threshold set in the former socialist countries experience. Collectivisation of agriculture in post-socialist countries started in two ways: through voluntary land consolidation and land parceling the equivalent odds. Land consolidation in households with agricultural train approx. 700-1700 ha gave good results in 7-8 years they have reached the level of European production. Moldova chose the way of parceling and the negative effect of this pathway is already known. Today, hundreds of thousands of farms with 3-8 ha of agricultural land produces twice as less than kolkhoz, approximately 20-30% of arable land is not worked for years.
