Rezumat

Burned dolomites are the most common non-metallic catalysts for the tar conversion during biomass gasification. Dolomite is a mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate with the general chemical formula CaMgCO3, which contains about 20 wt.% MgO, 30% CaO and 45% CO2 and impurities of iron oxides and other metal oxides. Dolomites are relatively cheap and ecologically harmless materials. The use of dolomite as catalysts is of interest in Belarus due to the significant natural resources of this material and its large-scale production (over 3 million tons yearly). This paper discusses the physico-chemical and strength properties of dolomites
