On the 1th of July 2012, new regulations that ended the reorganization of the Border Guard in to Border Police entered in to force. Naturally this transformation, implied, the demilitarization, professionalization, changes on the functional and organizational levels, as well as the assigning of new police competences, without which the efficient and complete functioning of the new border authority would have been impossible. Broadly speaking this reorganization process is a consequence of the realization of the Integrated Border Management National Strategy for 2011-2013, the first document of this type implemented in the Republic of Moldova. Our aim in this study is to analyze the impact that this strategy had, as well as the eventual effects of the new strategy. |
