Due to the evolution of the Eastern Question, the reign of Alexander II Mavrocordat in Moldova (1785-1786) was the last staying in power of the Mavrocordates, as rulers, on the political stage at north of the Danube River. This Phanariot was the ruler of Moldova during the period 1/12 January 1785 - 3/14 December 1786, being born in Constantinople at 1/12 July 1754 - he died in Poltava on 8/20 February 1819 (buried in Moscow).
