The territory between Chilia and Cetatea Albă kadiluks on the coastline of the Black Sea and the territory on the bank of the Dniester (between the districts Cetatea Albă and Tighina continued to remain under the authority of the voivode of Moldova, but their surface was reducing. In 1512 the waqf of Selim I was created on the inferior courses of Cogâlnic and Sărata, and by 1585 the northern border of Cetatea Albă near Palanka Ianâk Hisar was transferred to the village of Purcari. Afterwards Turks, Tatars and Noghay extended their administration in the region to the south of Codry, called later Budjak, in Reni and Hotin with the territories near them. |
