Rezumat | |||||
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian denomination distinguished by its observance of Saturday. The Seventh-day Adventist Church communities did not spread throughout the MSSR, but only in 38 localities. The members of these communities took special care to preserve prayer houses, repaired and kept them in good condition. In the period 1944-1965, the Seventh-day Adventist Church communities in the MSSR had a rather intense religious life. The Seventh-day Adventist communities of the MSSR were operating in spite of the difficulties that arose because of the restrictive nature of Soviet legislation on cults. Adventists have managed to keep their number of activists stable, around 440 people. It is interesting to note that Adventist cult is the only religious cult in the MSSR that has not experienced a decline in religious communities during the period under study. Even under these difficult conditions, the Seventh-day Adventist Church cult survived. |
