Rezumat

Propose: microscopic study and highlighting the diagnostic anatomical parameters in determining the adaptive potential to stressors in the climate conditions of the Republic of Moldova in 7 new Lavender genotypes of sp. Lavandula angustifolia Mill. The plants of 7 new lavender genotypes served as biological material: 4 cultivars (Moldoveanca 4, Vis Magic 10, Alba 7, Aroma Unica) and 3 hybrids (Fr.5S-8-24, Fr.8-5-15V and Cr.13S-6-7). The superficial and cross-section preparations of leaves and stems were analyzed in the microscope Micros with digital camera and the data was statistically processed (GraphPad Prism). The measurements data, statistical processing, analysis of cross-sections and superficial micrographs of leaves, stems, bracts and flowers of 7 lavender genotypes, characterized by different maturation periods (early, medium and late) allowed to highlight the diagnostic structural parameters. Anatomical parameters for determining the adaptive potential in case of stressors action (drought or frost) were identified: the thickness of cuticle, cell walls, epidermis, mesophyll and leaf blade; the thickness ratio of the upper and lower epidermis, epidermis and mesophyll; the value of cuticle, epidermis and mesophilic indexes; the development degree of mechanical elements (sclerenchymal fibers, colenchyma), protective trichomes, peltate and capitate secretory trichomes (number/1cm2, dimensions, distribution mode on epidermis). The greatest contribution in establishing the adaptive potential to unfavorable factors includes: the density and development degree of the protective trichomes; the cuticle, epidermis and mesophyll indexes. Anatomical parameters with a major contribution to the formation of Lavender adaptive potential have been identified. However, in order to highlight the adaptive structural gradient of Lavender genotypes, it will be necessary to apply a complex of external and internal anatomical parameters.
