In the article the questions of introduction of project management are examined in activity of local self-government, in particular at their co-operating with public organizations. Attention is spared also to foreign experience of the Republic of Poland. Using business technologies in city council is instrumental in optimization of collaboration of state and non-state structures, modernization of budgetary relations, system of delegation of plenary powers, responsibility and accountability before territorial mass, to the increase of efficiency of municipal management, and similarly to strengthening of role of local self-government in the decision of problems of territorial masses.
