Rezumat

The article reveals the main goals that concern the scientific community after the ratification of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (Paris, 2003), by the Republic of Moldova (24 March 2006). On the basis of the Law of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, are presented, the field and the specific of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The author define the basic notions and concepts of cultural heritage, as well as of that of its protection. The modern concept of the cultural heritage protection implies the comprehensive measures to ensure the heritages integration in local and national development strategy. This approach ensure new human and economic resources. At the same it encourages implication and contribution of central and local public authorities in partnership with civil society. The author explains the special roles of state institutions in enhancing the intangible heritage. Researching the folkloric thesaurus, crafts and authentic traditions, we have the certitude of a specific contribution to the dower of the human creativity and, in the same time, we are providing an important factor for our recognition in the contemporary world. Preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage in Moldova today has its roots in the interwar period, by the prodigious activity of Romanian Social Institute in Basarabia, led by folklorist Petre Stefanuca - disciple of Romanian Sociological School of Academician Dimitrie Gusti.
