Working in public administration appears to be associated with high levels of stress. Workplace stress is caused by factors at the organizational, management and individual levels. It can have a negative impact on the health, performance and behaviour of public servants. The main stress factor in public administration is the low level of remuneration. Other work-related stress factors included high workload, too many and diversified tasks, time pressure and low levels of autonomy. For this reason, workplace stress needs to be managed effectively. Stress management is all about taking charge: of your lifestyle, thoughts, emotions, and the way you deal with problems. |
