In the last two decades, many cyanide-bridged molecule-based magnetic materials have been isolated with various dimensionalities and interesting magnetic behaviours such as SMM,[1,2] SCM,[2] photomagnetic properties[3] .. Our goal is to connect [Mn2 III(SB)2] (SB =Schiff-base ligands) SMM building blocks with cyano-metallate transition metal complexes, [M(L)(CN)x]n- (x = 1-5), in order to obtain photo-sensitive materials. Following this idea we are obtained three heterobimetallic MnIII-FeII complexes: [Mn(5-Br-salpn)(H2O)]2[Fe(CN)5NO]•2H2O (1), [{Mn(salen)}2Fe(CN)5NO]•2H2O (2) and [{Mn(saltmen)}4Fe(CN)5NO](ClO4)2•H2O•2CH3OH (3), have been synthesized by the reactions of MnIII/ SB complexes, [Mn(SB)(H2O)]+, (SB being salen2- = N,N´-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminato) dianion; 5-Brsalpn2= N,N′-1,3-propylenebis(5-bromo-salicylideneiminato) dianion or saltmen2- = N,N´-(1,1,2,2tetramethylethylene) bis(salicylideneiminato) dianion) with the [Fe(CN)5NO]2- building block[4] . |
