Background. Currently, splenic angioembolization has become a valuable technical option for improving NOM outcomes and is indicated in hemodynamically stable patients with grade III-V spleen lesions (AAST). This is the safest way to preserve the organ and its functions. Objective of the study. Familiarization with new modern surgical techniques for diagnosis and treatment of spleen lesions, which determine the organomenage solution and preserve its function. Material and Methods. The most recent recommendations regarding splenic embolization after closed abdominal trauma were analyzed and systematized. They were selected by HINARI, Medline, Google schoolar search engines. Works based on the populations of adolescents, children and groups with specific diagnosis were excluded. Results. Over the last decade, the use of angioembolization within patients in groups with high-risk has reduced the failure rate to 2% -4%. In addition, the length of hospitalization decreased from 15 days to 9 days, and the organ preservation rate increased from 57% to 88%. The average failure rate after splenic angioembolization is about 10.2%, ranging from 0 to 33.3%, depending on the clinical experience and the severity of the vascular lesion diagnosed on angiography. Conclusion. Splenic angioembolization is a valuable complementary method of nonsurgical treatment and is used to treat traumatized with hemodynamically stable spinal cord injuries, being effective in stopping bleeding and maintaining spleen function |
